WICHITA, Kan. — Missouri Western fell to Newman on Friday night, as the Jets beat the Griffons 15-5 in seven innings using a six-run third inning in the win at McCarthy Field.
The Griffons (3-12, 0-7 MIAA) took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning thanks to a
Hunter Rumachik single that drove in
Travis Wiese. Newman (9-12, 3-4 MIAA) grabbed two runs in the bottom of the first, one from an error on a throw to first and one on a wild pitch to take a 2-1 lead. The Griffons never got back in the game, and a big third inning put it out of reach for MWSU.
