SAN JOSE, Cr. — In case you missed it, Griffon Men's Basketball primed itself for the 2022-23 preseason with an international trip that resulted in community service, long-lasting memories and a 3-0 clean sweep of the competition.
The Griffons arrived in Costa Rica in early August, playing against two Costa Rica All-Star teams and the Costa Rica National Team. The trip also allowed the team to gel together with its three new Division I transfers: Ethan Kilgore, Julius Dixon and Matthew Nunez.
"I can't say enough about this transformational experience for our program," said Head Coach
Will Martin. From a basketball standpoint, we unequivocally got better on the floor. However, the benefits from an X & O's standpoint does not pale in comparison to how we were able to grow and connect as a team. As a coach, you try to manufacture experiences of adversity and team building, but there is no way to mimic the experiences we were able to share on this trip. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for our student-athletes, and I am so grateful we were able to provide them with long lasting memories and growth."
