Griffon Softball Shortens Day with Sweep of Newman

WICHITA, Ks. — Griffon Softball saw a short and successful outing on Friday, sweeping Newman in run-rule fashion to win their sixth contest in a row.

Game 1
MWSU 9, Newman 0 - Final/6

The Griffons kept the Jets out of the skies, winning 9-0 to start the day. Sydni Hawkins supplied most of the offense with a homer and three RBI. Newcomer Bubba Hoelscher also added three hits and two RBI. Sydney Rader improves her record to 7-5 in with four strikeouts while only allowing four hits.

The Griffons achieved another high-scoring affair with an 11-3 win later in the afternoon. The offense in this game was powered by Emma Hoffart, who went 2-for-4 and four RBI. Two of those runs came from her team-leading seventh home run of the season in the third inning.
