ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — You know you're having a good time when your goalie is scoring.
Upper Iowa had no way of stopping Griffon Lacrosse — or the clock — during Missouri Western's 22-8 victory on Saturday night at the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex.
A cathartic and crushing 14-4 halftime score for Missouri Western saw their squad play practically the entire second half with a running clock against the Peacocks. With plenty of players getting reps, 16 different Griffons found the back of the net to provide a season-high in goals scored. Kelsey Corcoran scored a hat trick with three while goalkeeper Mackenzie Porter nabbed two goals of her own.
The Griffons scored five or more goals for the first three quarters and suffocated Upper Iowa all night, outshooting them 39-14. Thirty-six of the shots for MWSU were on goal.
