St. Joseph, Mo. - Rivalry revenge is sweeter at home.

The #22 Missouri Western women took early control and ran away with a 68-52 win over Northwest, avenging a December 18th loss to the Bearcats in Maryville.

Playing in front of a MWSU Fieldhouse capacity crowd, the Griffons (18-3, 12-3 MIAA) held the Bearcats (14-7, 9-6 MIAA) to 35% shooting and scored 38 points in the paint to pound their way to their 18th victory.  Western also out-rebounded Northwest 47-26.

Corbyn Cunningham led all scorers with 21 points (9-12 FG) and 12 rebounds.  Connie Clarke also had a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards.

The win puts the Griffons in a second-place tie in The MIAA, just one win behind conference leader Fort Hays.  Next up for MWSU, a trip to Joplin on February 10th to take on Missouri Southern.  The Lions are tied with the Griffons in the conference standings at 12-3.
