ABOUT LAST WEEK'S GRIFFON LOSS
UCM 40 MWSU 37, 2OT - Box Score

UCM (4-6, 4-6 MIAA) scored 17-straight points before tight end Cam Grandy received a handoff in the backfield and scored from a yard out, followed by another Watson PAT. A field goal by UCM  with just over four minutes remaining in the second quarter gave them a 20-14 lead, but Titus McCoy was not to be denied as he scored from three yards out.

A Watson field goal was followed up by a UCM touchdown, making the score 27-24 UCM. Watson would knock a 46 yard field goal through the uprights with 32 seconds remaining, and the game would head to overtime.

UCM only took three plays to score in the first overtime, but Reagan Jones would connect with Cooper Burton to score a touchdown that tied the game when paired with a Watson PAT. The Griffons were held to a field goal to start the second overtime, and UCM found an open receiver in the endzone just two plays into their second drive to seal the game.

Lincoln (0-10, 0-10 MIAA) took an early lead on a Javier Moreno 34 yard field goal, but ESU (8-2, 8-2 MIAA) claimed a lead through two touchdowns, one from a 58-yard pass and one on a three yard run, to take a 13-7 lead.

The Tigers scored on an 85-yard touchdown pass that saw Aderias Ealy catch a Zamar Brake pass and score. Emporia scored 22-straight points, all from Braeden Gleason passes.

Lincoln scored two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but they were all but academic as the Hornets won, 35-24.

COACHES CORNER
Head Coach Matt Williamson is now 30-26 as Missouri Western Head Coach, with an MIAA record of 28-26. Williamson has never lost to Lincoln, with a 2-0 record against the Blue Tigers. Jermaine Gales is in his first year at Lincoln. Previous to taking the Lincoln job, Gales was the offensive coordinator at Bluefield State, where he helped lead the first year program to a 4-3 record.

THIS DAY IN GRIFFON FOOTBALL HISTORY: NOV. 12
In 2011, Travis Partridge and Michael Hill led the Griffons to a resounding victory over Fort Hays State at Lewis Field Stadium, with the score finishing at 55-17 in favor of the Griffons.
Hill and Partridge combined for 287 yards on the ground and four touchdowns, and the Griffon defense forced two turnovers in the win. Sean Tray Bryson led the Griffons with three tackles for a loss.

CRAYTON AND RAVENEL - CLIMBING UP THE CAREER RANKINGS
With 11 career sacks apiece, A.J. Crayton and C.J. Ravenell are only half a QB takedown away from tying Daniel Atkinson for 10th all-time in Griffon history. Ravenell — a 2021 All-MIAA Third Team — member brought down the QB seven times after a two-sack season in 2019. So far in 2022, Ravenell's two sacks are six weeks apart, taking down UCO in week one and Pitt State in week eight. Crayton took down the QB for the 11th time in his career vs. Pitt State earlier this season.

KOBE'S DEFENSIVE CANOPY
Senior safety Kobe Cummings is once again making plays all over the field and is near the top of the MWSU tackling leaderboards, listed third with 55 this season. His 280 career tackles puts him fifth all-time within the program.
