KEARNEY, Ne. — Griffon Volleyball was swept by Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday game that saw the Griffons play to within two points in two of the three sets.
The Griffons (8-16, 5-11 MIAA) played the No. 6 team in the country to two sets decided by two points, with both sets seeing the teams tied at 23 before the Lopers (23-3, 13-3 MIAA) pulled away.

UNK 25, MWSU 23
Missouri Western looked like it had the upset bid online and ready to go early, taking leads at multiple points. The Griffons took the lead at 23-20, but five-straight points from the Lopers eventually led UNK to win the first set.

Both teams battled back and forth, keeping the score within a few points throughout the second set. The Griffons tied the score at 23, but two points in a row from UNK saw the Lopers go up 2-0.

UNK 25, MWSU 19
The Griffons had the lead at 11-9, but multiple big runs from the Lopers saw them pull away. Missouri Western couldn't close the gap, and the Lopers won the set, 25-19.

The Griffons head to Edmond, Oklahoma, to take on the Bronchos of Central Oklahoma (22-4, 12-4 MIAA) on October 27. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
