ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Griffon Volleyball dropped Gold Rush Night in three sets to No. 13 Northwest Missouri on Tuesday night at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
SET 1
NWMSU 25, MWSU 18
Starting the night off on a 4-0 run, Northwest (17-5, 11-3 ) racked up six service aces to build a 13-5 lead and keep Missouri Western at arm's length. The Griffons (7-15, 4-10 MIAA) pulled out a quick 3-0 run to bring the match the match within five at one point, but the Bearcats sealed the deal with a kill by Payton Kirchoefer.
SET 2
NWMSU 25, MWSU 18
The Griffons only found five kills overall in comparison to the Bearcats' total of 13 in set two. After bringing the match within one at 5-4, Missouri Western gave up a 6-0 run ultimately led to another Northwest win.

NWMSU 25, MWSU 22
Missouri Western constructed an early 5-2 lead thanks to multiple errors from Northwest and a service ace for
Jessica Sachen. Leading 20-18 later thanks to a kill by
Hailey Crane and a Northwest error, the Bearcats outscored MWSU 7-3 to close out the match, ending with a final kill by Abby Brunseen.
