No. 23 Missouri Western will try and bounce back from back-to-back losses for the first time in over a year as they travel to Jefferson City Saturday to play the Blue Tigers. The Griffons are now 8-3 after losing at Central Missouri Thursday 70-64 in their first game in two weeks after the program had to pause all team activities due to positive COVID-19 results among its Tier 1 personnel.

Lincoln is 7-4 this season and fourth in the MIAA, one game back of MWSU, as they look to rebound from a heartbreaking loss to No. 3 Northwest Missouri State Thursday 76-74. The Blue Tigers let a two-point lead slip away in the final 16 seconds and lost on a put back layup with :01 on the clock.

The Griffon beat the Blue Tigers on December 3 in St. Joseph, 89-73. Western shot 48.4% from the field and made nine three-point field goals as they pulled away from Lincoln in the second half. LU rallied from an 11-point deficit to make it a one-point game with 13 minutes left in the second half, but MWSU outscored them the rest of the way 34-19.Â
Will Eames tied a career-high with 25 points and he added 11 rebounds.Â

Missouri Western leads the all-time series 35-12 and they're 14-6 in Jefferson City. The Griffons have won two straight in the series after Lincoln won six of the previous seven games.

SCHEDULE UPDATE
Missouri Western has now reschedule all four games they had to postpone earlier this month. Â The Fort Hays State game from January 16 will now be in Hays, Kansas on Tuesday, February 23. Â The January 19th Northwest Missouri State has been moved to Tuesday, February 9 inside the MWSU Fieldhouse. Â The Newman home game that was supposed to be played on January 21 will now take place on Monday, February 15. Â And the January 23rd home game against Central Oklahoma has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 7. Â MWSU will now play 10 games in February and six during a 10-day span.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Griffons have been in the national rankings each week since December 15 as they are No. 23 this week in the NABC Top 25. Â This is the sixth consecutive poll that Missouri Western has been ranked in, which is the fourth longest streak in school history. Â The 1994-95 team were ranked in nine consecutive polls, the 1990-91 team had an eight poll streak and the 1991-92 team was in the rankings for seven straight polls. Â This is also the first year a Western men's basketball team has been in the Coaches Top 25 since the 2002-2003 season. Â The Griffs are also ranked in the D2SIDA Top 25 Media poll as they are tied for 25th this week.
HOME WINNING STREAK
Missouri Western is 5-0 at home this season and they've won 17 of their last 18 games inside the MWSU Fieldhouse, with the only loss during that stretch against then No. 1 Northwest Missouri State last season. Â The Griffons struggled at home in Coach Martin's first year on staff as they went just 2-9 inside the MWSU Fieldhouse during the 2018-2019 season.
BACK-TO-BACK LOSSES
The Griffons suffered their second consecutive loss at Central Missouri Thursday, which was the first time they lost back-to-back in their last 25 games. Â That was the best stretch for MWSU since the 2001-2002 season when they avoided back-to-back losses for 29 straight games. Â
