ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western Men's Basketball will hit the road this week as the Griffons (3-3, 0-0 MIAA) will head to Colorado at the end of the week to compete in the Holiday Inn - Airport Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Colorado Mesa. They will play Colorado Mesa (2-2, 0-0 RMAC) on Friday, Nov. 29 at 8:00 p.m. and Western Colorado (2-2, 0-0 RMAC) on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 3:00 p.m.
 
The Griffons are heading into Colorado this week after an efficient offensive performance against Nebraska Christian winning 101-34. Five Griffons scored in double digits and Missouri Western shot an impressive 53% from the field. They hope to continue the success of the last two games heading into Grand Junction.
 
PREVIEWING THE GRIFFONS
 

• Missouri Western is ranked second in the MIAA in blocks per game with an average of 5.17.
• The Griffons also rank in the top-10 of the MIAA in scoring, averaging 74.8 points per contest.
• Tyrell Carroll averages 18.7 points per game for the Griffons, ranking him sixth in the conference in scoring. Carroll also ranks top-10 in the league in field goal percentage, averaging 55% per contest.
• Carroll also leads the league in steals per game, averaging 2.7 per contest for the Griffons.
• Jonathan Mesmacque ranks seventh in the MIAA in three-point field goals per game, averaging 2.4 per match.
• Alex John ranks third in the conference in average blocks per game with a rate of 2 per contest.

 
SCOUTING COLORADO MESA
 

• The Mavericks ranks fourth in the RMAC in offensive scoring averaging 84.8 points per contest through 4 games. Colorado Mesa also leads their conference in field goal percentage, averaging 53% per game.
• CMU ranks in the top-five of the conference in average blocks and assists per game.
• Tommy Nuno leads the RMAC in field goal percentage, averaging 65% per game.
• Kolton Peterson ranks fourth in the conference in three-point field goals per game with an average of 3 per contest.
• Jared Small also ranks in the top-10 of their league in blocked shots with one per contest.

 
SCOUTING WESTERN COLORADO
 

• The Mountaineers average 74.5 points per contest, ranking just outside the top-10 of the RMAC.
• Western Colorado also ranks second in their conference in defensive rebounds, averaging 28 per contest.
• Josh Tomasi ranks in the top-20 of the RMAC in scoring, averaging 15 points per game for the Mountaineers.
• Jackson Ehrlin ranks in the top-15 of the conference in average rebounds per game with 7.
• Monroe Porter ranks ninth in the league in average blocked shots per game with a average of a block through 4 games.
