ST. JOSEPH – Griffon Volleyball (12-9, 6-7) completed a football-volleyball shutout sweep of Emporia State (5-16, 1-12), Saturday night. Missouri Western went on big runs at the end of all three sets for a sweep of the Hornets.

The Griffons closed out the first set on an 11-6 run to win 25-18. They used a 6-1 run to go up 15-11 in the second then closed it out with a 7-2 run to win 25-17. A 9-3 Griff run allowed MWSU to close out the third, 25-14 in dominant fashion.

- The Griffons hit a season-high .384 with just five attack errors all night.
- MWSU hit .400 in the first, .371 in the second and .381 in the third.
- The Griffons had an 89% sideout percentage in the first set and 73% in the third.
- There were just four lead changes all night, three in the second.
- Missouri Western servers recorded six aces.
- Ali Tauchen had 16 kills with a .556 hitting percentage.
- Tauchen was the only Griff with double-digit kills, but Allie Kerns had nine, Sam Duncan had eight and Danielle Moje had seven.
