ST. JOSEPH –Griffon baseball (13-9) hosts Emporia State (13-9) on Tuesday, March 19 at 4 p.m. at the Spring Sports Complex. Original game time was scheduled for 5 p.m. but a chilly evening forecast pushed first pitch up an hour.
 
Both teams enter the match-up riding streaks of momentum. Missouri Western has won eight consecutive games and is coming off its second straight MIAA conference series sweep. Emporia State has won its last four games but only one of those wins was in conference play. MWSU and ESU each qualified for the NCAA Regional the last two seasons.
 
Tuesday is the first of three mid-week match-ups between the Hornets and Griffons. Game two will be on Tuesday, April 3 in Emporia, Kansas. The series returns to St. Joseph for its finale on Tuesday, April 17.
