Washburn Game Notes
ST. JOSEPH - It's back on the road this week for the Missouri Western women's basketball team. The Griffons begin the week with a Wednesday night game at Washburn.
Missouri Western is fresh off snapping an eight-game losing streak with a 57-44 win over Lincoln on Feb. 3. The win also gave
Rob Edmisson his 100th win as head coach at Missouri Western. The Griffons take what has become an extremely stingy defense to Topeka to face the MIAA's 10th ranked scoring offense in Washburn (68.5 points per game).
NOTABLES
- The Griffons held their last five opponents to an average of 55 points per game, not allowing more than 63 to any team over that stretch
- Cera Ledbetter averaged 12 points and 5.7 rebounds over the last three games since returning from an injury that saw her miss most of three-straight games
- Ledbetter, Dossou Ndiaye and KeShara Scott produced 65 percent of the team's rebounds and 53 percent of the team's scoring in the last three games. Combined, the trio averaged 29 points and 21 boards per game over the stretch
- Washburn has lost three-straight and seven of their last nine
- Missouri Western ranks fourth in the MIAA in scoring defense (60.6) while Washburn is fifth (61.8)
