Griffons Earn Shutout Victory on Senior Night

Griffons win 1-0 in their last home game of the season.

ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western Soccer (12-5, 7-3 MIAA) defeated Northwest Missouri (2-14, 1-9 MIAA) 1-0 in the team's last home game of the season on Friday night. It was Senior Night for the winningest senior class in program history. Before the game, Griffon fans and players honored Brooke Howe, Cassidy Menke, Madeline Cowell, Bailey Ketcham, Megan Maenner, and Sara Collins for their years at Missouri Western.
 

NOTABLES
  • Taylor Schwartzkopf scored the game's only goal in the 61st minute off of an assist from Lillian Davis.
  • After earning their 12th win on Friday, the 2018 Griffons secured the second-most wins in a season in program history.
  • Missouri Western also secured its fourth-straight winning season.
  • The Griffons were not able to gain any ground in the MIAA standings with the win as they remained tied with Emporia State and Fort Hays State for third.
