BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Griffon softball's bats pushed the team to two wins on Saturday at the Arkansas-Monticello 8-Stat Classic.

Missouri Western batted .340 as a team and scored 12 runs in wins over Upper Iowa (0-4) and Arkansas Tech (6-6) on Saturday.

- Morgan Rathmann broke the MWSU career stolen base record in the win over Upper Iowa
- All seven Griffon runs against Arkansas Tech came with two outs
- Missouri Western improved to 9-3, one game better than its 8-4 start to the 2016 season
- The Griffons stole seven bases on eight attempts on the day, four in the Upper Iowa game

TOP PERFORMERS
- Paige Shifflett broke out of a slow start to the season by going 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBIs
- Sydney Washington was 4-for-7 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored
- Rathmann went 3-for-7 on the day and had a double and a triple with two runs scored in the win over Upper Iowa
- Shelbie Atwell hit her first home run of the season in the win over Upper Iowa and was 2-for-6 on the day. She's now batting .474 on the season
- Barbara Billingsley held Arkansas Tech to one run and improved to 5-1 on the season
