ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western men's basketball begins its regular season with pair of games in the 26^th Annual Hillyard Tip-Off Classic. The Griffons held their own in an 88-74 exhibition loss to Arkansas on Friday, Nov. 3. MWSU led for nearly nine minutes and had a lead of eight points at the 12:49 mark in the first half in the loss.

MISSOURI WESTERN
The Griffons shot 45.6 percent from the field and 51.6 percent from the three-point arc in the loss at Arkansas … MWSU made 14 three-pointers against U of A … Cole Clearman, Joe Hamilton and Lavon Hightower each scored 13 points against the Razorbacks … Cheikh Fall had six rebounds and TJ Evans finished with six assists against Arkansas.
 
WINONA STATE
The Warriors were picked 12^th in the Northern Sun Preseason Coaches' Poll … WSU averaged 72.0 points per game and gave up 73.6 points per game … Tommy Gathje is the top returner with 10.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and shot 54 percent from the field last season.
 
UPPER IOWA
The Peacocks were picked 8^th in the Northern Sun Preseason Coaches' Poll … UIU is 3-0 on the season … Upper Iowa averages 77.0 points per game and allows 73.0 points per game … Carson Parker leads the Peacocks with 18.0 points per game and shoots 46.2 percent from the field.
