ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Griffons will meet Emporia State for their second game of a three game series with first pitch starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Emporia, Kansas. 

Previewing Missouri Western
MWSU owns a 19-8 overall record and a 11-5 MIAA record. The Griffons have won five straight, including a sweep of Northeastern State this past weekend. The Griffons and Hornets faced off in a single game last week with the Griffons winning 6-5 in walk-off fashion.

Landon Mason is hitting .438 through 23 games this year, picking up 42 hits and scoring 22 runs. Jeremy Alavarado and Cosimo Cannella have each tallied eight home runs this year. Cannella has driven in a team-high 46 RBIs this year. Orencio Fisher is now 16-18 on stolen bases this year.

Evan Jones and Preston Bailey continue to be strong options for the Griffons on the mound as they have a combined record of 7-0, combining to strike out 43 batters and allowing just 22 earned runs. Richard Peoples owns a 4-2 record this year and has struck out 22 batters.

Previewing #15 Emporia State
ESU has a 21-6 record and a 13-3 conference record this season. Emporia State rebounded after falling to the Griffons with a sweep of Nebraska-Kearney this past weekend.

Evan Koehler continues to be a monster at the plate, hitting 13 home runs so far this season and driving in 39 RBIs on the season while hitting .380. Daniel LaMunyon is hitting .379 this year, recording 33 hits and scoring 28 runs. Nine other Hornets are hitting at least .300 on the year.

Tyler Stubblefield owns a 6-0 record with a 1.97 ERA, pitching 50.1 innings and striking out 57 batters. Jordan Plank and Matt Slauter each have a 4-1 record this year.
