ST. JOSEPH – The Griffons look to gain ground in the MIAA standings as tournament time approaches. Missouri Western will face off against their rival Northwest Missouri St. on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

The Series
Missouri Western trails the all-time series 47-35 and has lost six straight to the Bearcats. The Griffons last win came in 2013 at home, earning a 71-58 victory. The Griffons suffered a 66-60 loss earlier this season.

The Coaches
Brett Weiberg is in his third season at Missouri Western and tenth as a head coach overall. He is 31-46 in his time at Missouri Western and 170-151 overall. Prior to becoming the head coach at Missouri Western, Weiberg spent seven seasons as head coach at Northern Oklahoma College.

Ben McCollum is the head coach for Northwest Missouri St. and has accumulated 133-69 overall record in his seven seasons. Before coming back to Northwest, McCollum served four years as an assistant at Emporia State.
