ST. JOSEPH –Griffon Women's Basketball will host the Holiday Inn Express/Candlewoods Suites Classic Friday and Saturday in the MWSU Fieldhouse.  Missouri Western returns from a three game road trip where they went 2-1.  Both wins came in Hawaii, as MWSU beat Hawaii Pacific and BYU-Hawaii.

Ball handling and three-point shooting were the preseason emphasis by the Griffons and both have proven to payoff thus far.  The Griffons currently rank ninth in the nation in both assist turnover ratio at 1.5 and 11.33 in turnover margin.  They also are twelfth in the country for three point attempts with 91 shots put up in the first five games. 

Scouting the Miners of Missouri S&T
Missouri S&T enters the classic winning back-to-back games including a seven point win over MIAA member Lincoln University of Missouri.  Janie Arand is leading the Miners with 15.5 points per game and is shooting 53.3 percent from the field. 

Scouting the Cardinals of William Jewell
William Jewell's only win so far on the season came by 12 points against Southwest Minnesota State, who the Griffons beat in the season opener 78-56.  Maddie Nelson is averaging a double-double for the Cardinals as she has 17 points with 10 rebounds per game.

Scouting the Bearcats of Northwest Missouri
Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri will not play each other until conference play rolls around on Dec. 6.  The Bearcats currently rank sixth in the country with 11.3 three pointers per game and eighth for three pointers made with 34.
