ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western Volleyball swept Lindenwood (25-13, 25-13, 25-15) on Senior Day.
The Griffons wasted little time with the Lions, as they used two different 5-0 runs to win the opening set. MWSU busted out of the gates with a 12-2 lead and build the lead to 22-8 while cruising to a 2-0 match lead. The third set mirrored the first two as Missouri Western took an early 5-0 lead and extended it 18-8 before winning the match.
Stephanie Doak and
Rachel Friedrichs each had 11 of the teams' 45 kills and nine of its 16 blocks. Friedrichs finished with a match high .529 hitting percentage while the Griffons hit .358 as a team.Â
Lauren Murphy paced the offense with 26 assists as
Kayla Ruff led the defense with 15 digs.
Missouri Western now awaits the announcement if its opponent in the MIAA Tournament. First round will be Tuesday, Nov. 15.
