Missouri Western enters the last two weeks of the regular season with a 10-12 record and a 6-9 mark in MIAA play after dropping another close one at Missouri Southern last Saturday. On the season, just seven points total separate the Griffons and their opponents. The per game average between MWSU and their opposition sits at just 0.3 points. Twelve of the team's 22 games have been decided by single-digits, all seven points or less. 

Cortrez Colbert leads the team with 15.9 points per game. The senior guard is averaging 18.9 per MIAA contest. Kevin Thomas and Cole Clearman each average more then eight per game with Thomas' six rebounds per game tops on the team.

The Griffons average 68.1 points per game while allowing 68.4. They are shooting 43 percent from the field, 34 percent from three-point range and 66 percent at the free throw line. Every statistical category for the Griffons is close with their opposition. They hold a +0.1 rebounding margin and a +1.3 turnover margin.

LINCOLN BLUE TIGERS 

Lincoln's losing streak reached 15 games last week with losses to Central Missouri and at Southwest Baptist. The Blue Tigers have not won since Dec. 4 when they opened MIAA play with a win at Northeastern State.

Joshua Buie is one of three Lincoln players averaging double-digits. He leads the team with 17 points per game, followed by 13.2 from Mike Smith and 10.1 from Victor Scott. Smith and Aaron Spudich share the team lead with 4.4 rebounds per game. 

Opponents are outscoring Lincoln by 12.2 points on the year (75.4-63.2). They shoot 43.8 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the arc. At the free throw line, Lincoln shoots 70.5 percent.

THE SERIES
Missouri Western has won the last four and holds a 30-5 advantage all-time over Lincoln. In St. Joseph, the Griffons are 16-2 against the Blue Tigers.

Tickets for the MIAA Basketball Championship, March 5-8, at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City are on sale now in the Griffon Ticket Office.  The all-session pass, which includes all 14 games in Kansas City, is $50, with single session tickets available for $20 for adults and youth/students $5.  Men's quarterfinal action begins on Thursday 3/5 with women's quarterfinal action taking place on Friday 3/6.  The semifinals and championship games take place over the weekend. Tickets are cheaper if purchased from our office in advance and we have an allotment we must sell.  Brackets and game times will be determined at the end of the regular season.
