MIAA StandingsST. JOSEPH -Â Griffon Football looks to snap its first three-game losing streak in seven years when it travels to Nebraska-Kearney Saturday. Nebraska-Kearney is in search of its first win for new head coach Josh Lamberson (0-9).Â
Both programs sit in rare territory with Missouri Western having lost three in a row and five in a season for the first time since 2008. A loss in either of the Griffons' two remaining games would hand the program its first losing season since 2004. A program with a winning tradition, Nebraska-Kearney sits 0-9 in former Northwest Missouri State quarterback and Central Missouri assistant coach Josh Lamberson's first season as the head man in Kearney.Â
Missouri Western has won the last six in the series, including five-straight for head coach
Jerry Partridge. Those six wins still leave Missouri Western behind in the all-time series, 16-9, as Nebraska-Kearney controlled early matchups in the CSIC days. A win Saturday would move coach Partridge to 144 career victories at Missouri Western and 112 in the MIAA. It's the last road, regular season game for Missouri Western with senior day set for Nov. 14 at Craig Field at Spratt Memorial Stadium. Next Saturday's game was moved up to an 11 a.m. kickoff.Â
