The Griffons soccer team hits the road for their first MIAA contests of the season. Missouri Western will travel to Kirksville, Mo. on Friday for a 4 p.m. matchup against Truman State and then goes to St. Charles, Mo. to take on Lindenwood on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
MWSU is currently 2-2 coming off a 2-0 victory to No. 16 ranked NAIA Graceland University.
Katie Kempf had two goals leading while
Kelly Voigts secured the net with 9 saves.
On the season, Voigts already has 29 saves, while Kempf has taken six shots with three goals. Sophomore,
K.C. Ramsell leads the team with 7 corner kicks to go with eight shot attempts.
About Truman State: The Bulldogs hold a 10-0-1 all-time record against the Griffons. They are led by Trisha Shoemaker, who has four goals on 15 shots with six on-goal. The Bulldogs are currently 3-1, coming off a 3-0 victory against Sioux Falls.
About Lindenwood: Lindenwood and Missouri Western have never competed against each other. The Lions are 2-0-1 on the season, with victories over Maryville University, Missouri-St. Louis and tying against Illinois-Sprinfield. Courtney Bresnahan has four goals to lead the Lions.
