Leah Stringer

Leah Stringer enters her third season with the Missouri Western soccer program and her first season in 2022 as the interim head coach. As an assistant in year's past, her primary responsibility was to train the team's goalkeepers. Her first season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but MWSU did play an abbreviated schedule in the Spring of 2021.

SPRING 2021 SEASON

During the spring 2021 season, Stringer helped guide the Griffons to a 8-3-1 overall record earning them a spot in the MIAA Tournament Championship game. The Griffons were able to end the season ranked No. 23 in the final D2 soccer rankings in the Spring of 2021.

FALL 2021 SEASON

The official 2021 season started with the Griffons being preseason ranked No.23 in the D2 polls. Griffons finished the 2021 season with a 9-8-2 overall record and being ranked a program high No. 13 at one point in the season. Stringer coached & developed the goalkeepers to a .807 save percentage (third in the MIAA) and produced the second-best season in shutouts in program history (six shutouts) in the 2021 season.

PRIOR TO MWSU

Stringer began her collegiate coaching career with the men's & women's program at Northeast Texas Community College in 2016. She was the assistant and goalkeeper coach for both programs for 4 years. On the men's side Stringer assisted the team to its best season in 2018 including the program's highest ranking in program history (No. 5), best record (17-3-0), a trip to the 2018 NJCAA National Tournament, along with being named 2018 NJCAA Men's South Regional Staff of The Year. On the women's side, she coached & developed the program's only two goalkeepers to receive All-Region honors, best record (14-4-0), first and highest ranking in program history (No. 24). Prior to coaching at Northeast Texas CC Stringer spent three years coaching club soccer in North Texas.

Stringer earned a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Central Christian College of Kansas in 2011 and a Master's degree in Coaching from Texas Woman's University in 2018. She has D License from the United States Soccer Federation and has earned her Goalkeeping Level 1 & 2 Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches.
