Matt Bergin was outstanding in relief this past week pitching 13 innings out of the bullpen. Bergin went seven strong innings against Emporia State on Tuesday giving up seven hits and two earned runs. Against Washburn on Saturday in game two he went 3.2 innings giving up just two hits while striking out two in the comeback victory and on Sunday he pitched 2.1 innings helping the Griffons out of the bases loaded jam in the seventh and then shutting down the Ichabods getting the victory. He went 2.1 innings giving up just two hits. On the week he walked just two and gave up just two earned runs, both against Emporia.
