Jochem served as Avila's interim head athletic trainer from September 2022 to November 2023. As an Eagle, she was the primary contact for the department, working closely with football, softball, dance and bowling.
Before Avila, Jochem was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Missouri State from August 2021 to May 2022. It was in Springfield, Missouri, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2020. Two years later, Jochem earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training, cementing her professional career in the field and kick starting an eventual journey to St. Joseph her mother had taken two decades prior.Â
Fast forwarding to the present, Jochem's primary team is Missouri Western Men's Basketball, a program experiencing one of its most successful starts in recent memory in a sport that is forever intertwined with her career. Whatever bumps or bruises Head Coach Will Martin's players receive, Jochem wants Griffon Nation to know her student-athletes are receiving the best care possible.
