In his first year with the Griffons, Moyer helped lead the Griffons to a historic season reaching the Elite 8 for the first time in over two decades. Missouri Western finished 24-10 overall and 14-8 in the MIAA, including a fourth-place finish in the conference.
During his first season for the 2022-23 season, the program had an impressive record of 24-7 overall and 18-4 in the MIAA, which included wins over multiple ranked teams thorughout the season. Their success earned them a spot in the conference tournament. The team boasted the talented Brionna Budgetts, who was awarded the MIAA Player of the Week title twice (Jan 24 2023 and Feb 6 2023). Additionally, four players were selected for the All-MIAA teams.
Moyer comes to St. Joseph after graduating from Oklahoma State University in May with a degree in Sports Management. He was the manager of the Cowgirl women's basketball team the last three seasons and earned the Kurt Budke Scholarship in 2020. Moyer also has given private basketball lessons during the summers and he played college basketball for one season at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Moyer is a Verdigris, Oklahoma native and graduated from Verdigris High School. He is working to complete his Masters in Sport and Fitness Management degree. He is married to Katy Moyer.
