Jaelyn Haggard enters her first season as a Graduate Assistant for the Griffons after playing a key role on the court for the team just one season ago.
A native of St. Joseph, MO, Haggard came home to use her fifth year of eligibility and compete for the Griffons after a four-year career at Northwest Missouri State. In her only season with the Griffons, Haggard appeared in all 34 games and averaged 7.8 points per game. She posted a team best 19 points against #4 Fort Hays to lead her team to an Elite Eight. Haggard was named to the NCAA Central Region All-Tournament team.
Prior to Missouri Western, Haggard spent four seasons at Northwest where she appeared in 105 games, including 81 starts. She scored 1,185 points, which ranked 19th all-time at Northwest. She is the Bearcats' all-time leader in three-point field goals made with 256. Haggard is also third all-time at Northwest in free throw percentage as she shot 82.8% for her career. As a freshman, Haggard was named the 2018 MIAA Co-Freshman of the Year. Haggard was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll all four years.
Haggard originally attended St. Joseph Central High School. She is currently working towards the completion of her Physical Therapy Assistant degree.
During his first season for the 2022-23 season, the program had an impressive record of 24-7 overall and 18-4 in the MIAA, which included wins over multiple ranked teams thorughout the season. Their success earned them a spot in the conference tournament. The team boasted the talented Brionna Budgetts, who was awarded the MIAA Player of the Week title twice (Jan 24 2023 and Feb 6 2023). Additionally, four players were selected for the All-MIAA teams.
