Matt Mandich was named Director of Sports Performance in May of 2019.
Mandich was most recently an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Southern Mississippi where he was the primary director for baseball programming and an assistant for the football team. Mandich was also an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Wofford College from 2015 to 2017. The MIAA will not be unfamiliar territory for Mandich after serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Missouri Southern from 2012 to 2014 where he was responsible for developing programming for the baseball, women's basketball, women's soccer and volleyball teams in addition to being the first assistant for football. He began his career as a strength and conditioning intern at Louisiana State University in 2012.
A four-time All-Sun Belt Conference offensive lineman at Arkansas State University, Mandich received his bachelor's degree in exercise science at Arkansas State in 2009. Mandich was named the Gary Withrow Award winner as Arkansas State's most outstanding offensive lineman in 2007 and 2008. He received his master's in health and human performance from Northwestern State University in 2012. Mandich has certifications from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, United States Weightlifting, Reflexive Performance Reset, National Academy of Sports Medicine and the American Red Cross.
