Ben Dodson

Ben Dodson has been a member of the Griffon coaching staff since the beginning of the program in 2017.  After serving as a graduate assistant, he was promoted to a full-time assistant position in the fall of 2020. He was an essential part of the Griffons historic 2022 track season, which saw the woman's 4x100m team go All-American, with Hannah Williams going All-American and finishing 3rd in the 400m. Williams set a program record time of 53.44 along the way.

Dodson’s focus is on the sprinters and middle-distance events. Since arriving at MWSU, he has coached one All-American, 47 All-MIAA selections, and 17 student-athletes who have achieved provisional national qualifying marks.

Before his time at Missouri Western, Dodson coached at St. Gregory’s University, where he served as the Assistant track and field coach and later the head women’s coach through the fall of 2017. While working at SGU, Dodson coached the sprints, hurdles, middle distance, and distance programs. He coached five national qualifiers in his tenure with his alma mater.

Dodson graduated from SGU in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in history. As an athlete at SGU, Dodson was a hurdler and middle-distance runner, qualifying for the NAIA National meet in the 4 x 800 meter relay.
