Biography

Outlook: She is very raw and has an unusual combination of strength and speed...catching is her primary position but her athleticism will allow her to play in front of the plate as well.

2014 season: Gillaspy topped off an impressive junior campaign being named third team Daktronics All-American, Daktronics First Team All-Region, NFCA First Team All-Central Region and First Team All-MIAA for the first time in her career...a two-time MIAA AstroTurf Hitter of the Week finished her season getting a hit in 23 of her last 25 games and had an 19 game hitting streak during that run...hit safely in 45 of the Griffons 57 games this season...finished the season leading the Griffons and was in the top-10 in the MIAA in batting average (.390), hits (73), doubles (13), home runs (13), RBI (60), total bases (125) and slugging percentage (.668)...had double digit hits in 21 games including going 4-for-4 against Central Missouri on March 14. She has also had five RBI in a game three times and hit two home runs and a double against Lincoln on April 12...on the final day of the season she went 4-for-7 with two runs scored, four RBI a double and a home run in the NCAA Central Regional...her 60 RBI and 73 hits is second all-time in a single season.

2013 season: Named Honorable Mention All-MIAA...started all 54 games...had a .326 batting average with 57 hits placing second on the team...scored 30 runs...had 12 doubles to lead the team and hit two triples and nine home runs...had 42 RBI, and had a field percentage of .975 with 328 putouts.

2012 season: Played in 22 games with 10 starts...hit .308 with 12 hits and 12 runs scored...had three doubles and one home run...had seven RBI with 18 total bases...had a .462 slugging percentage and .378 on base percentage...had one stolen bases.

High School: Played her high school softball at Southeast Polk High School in Altoona, Iowa...was a First Team All-District and First Team All-State selection...she held a .414 batting average with 53 hits in 128 at bats...had 15 doubles and six home runs...scored 37 runs while accumulating 34 RBI...held a .476 on base percentage to go along with a .673 slugging percentage and a .950 fielding percentage.
