Reid McDermott


Reid McDermott enters his first season with Missouri Western strength and conditioning in 2017.

Prior to MWSU, McDermott worked as a football strength and conditioning intern for Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where he assisted with all training sessions.

His work at ISU also included training all Olympic sports and specifically working with the Cyclone wrestling, track and field and swimming programs.

Reid has been an assistant speed and agility coach at Ames Soccer Club and a volunteer strength coach for Newton high school in Newton, Iowa.

McDermott graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health. He also won a NJCAA National Championship in football at Iowa Western Community College in 2012. He will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management at Missouri Western.
