Andrew Moritz joined the Missouri Western baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2024.
Moritz spent the last five years playing for the Atlanta Braves organization after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 MLB Draft with the 172nd pick. He reached as high as Double-A in the MiLB with the Mississippi Braves, where he was named Southern League Player of the week (9/11/22) and was an MiLB Organizational All-Star for the Atlanta
Braves in 2022.
In college, Moritz played outfield at UNC-Greensboro. With the Spartans, he collected numerous national accolades, including ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-American and District (2018), D2Baseball.com Second Team All-American (2018), Baseball America and Perfect/Rawlings Third Team All-America (2018). Additionally, Moritz was a two-time All-Southern Conference selection, the 2018 Southern Conference Player of the Year, a member of the NCAA Clemson Regional All-Tournament Team (2018) and a SoCon All-Tournament Team selection.
Moritz is a native of St. Louis and has spent the last four years as a baseball coach at Providence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
