ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - No. 8 Griffon Volleyball (11-1, 1-0 MIAA) dominated No. 22 Central Oklahoma Friday, taking down the Bronchos in straight sets at the MWSU Fieldhouse in St. Joseph.
MoWest took the first two sets 25-16 and then the third, 25-19, marking their second win over a ranked opponent this season and the 14th win over a ranked team under head coach
Jessica Fey.
The Griffons were dominant through the middle with 11 total blocks. MoWest held UCO to a .077 attack percentage. The Griffons also served very well Friday with nine aces in all.
Tanith Roush and
Taylor Russell led the charge offensively with nine kills each. The Griffs finished with a .252 attack percentage and 40 total kills.
Brooklyn Gormley had seven kills and six block assists to go with a solo block.
Emma Duff and
Katelyn Diani-O'Day had 15 assists apiece, while
Anna Weberg logged 17 digs.
Holly Heldt and
Noelle Sutcliffe each tallied three ace serves.
MoWest is back at it at home on Saturday to face the Newman Jets. First serve from MWSU Fieldhouse is set for 2 p.m.
