FORT SMITH, Ark. – Griffon Baseball (23-21, 16-15 MIAA) rode a dominant outing on the mound as Cam Saleh delivered a no-hitter in a 4-2 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith (5-37, 4-29 MIAA).
Saleh tossed all nine innings without allowing a hit, striking out seven while working around five walks and a hit-by-pitch. Both runs he allowed were unearned as he finished with 125 pitches.
MoWest struck first in the third inning when Luke Parmentier brought home Seth Winkler with an RBI single.
Arkansas-Fort Smith answered in the bottom half, using a walk and stolen base to create scoring chances before a passed ball moved runners into position. The Lions tied the game on an error at first base and later took a 2-1 lead when Connor Earleywine stole home, with both runs going down as unearned.
The Griffons regained control in the fifth as David De Hoyos launched a two-run home run to left-center, putting MoWest back on top, 3-2.
Winkler added insurance in the ninth with a solo home run to left, extending the lead to 4-2.
Despite multiple baserunners throughout the game, Saleh never surrendered a hit, closing it out to secure the victory.
