WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Griffon Baseball (8-11, 3-6 MIAA) dropped the series finale to No. 4 Central Missouri (17-3, 8-1 MIAA) 13-3 on Sunday afternoon at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
Central Missouri struck first with four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 4-0 lead.
MoWest responded in the top of the second inning to cut into the deficit.
Issac Sobieszczyk drove in
Luke Shannahan on a fielder's choice to put the Griffons on the board, and
Juan Guardado followed with a sacrifice fly to right field that scored
Miguel Cantu to make it 4-2.
Central Missouri answered in the bottom of the second inning with two runs to extend the lead to 6-2.
The Griffons picked up another run in the fourth inning when
Ben Waliczek doubled down the right field line, allowing
Issac Huettl to score and trim the deficit to 6-3.
Central Missouri responded with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning and added another run in the sixth inning to push the lead to 8-3. The Mules broke the game open in the seventh inning with a grand slam and later added another run to bring the final score to 13-3.

Griffon Baseball returns home Tuesday, March 10, to host Truman State in a non-conference matchup with first pitch set for 3 p.m.
