ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Baseball (11-16, 6-10 MIAA) continues conference play this week with a four-game slate, beginning on the road before returning home for a weekend series.
MoWest opens the week Wednesday with a 3 p.m. matchup at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville. The contest marks the first meeting of the season between the two programs, with the series continuing April 8 in St. Joseph and concluding April 22 back in Maryville.
The Griffons then return to Griffon Baseball Field for a three-game set against Newman (4-24, 2-16 MIAA). First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, followed by a 3 p.m. game Saturday and a 1 p.m. finale Sunday.
MoWest enters the week coming off a 24-16 win over Northeastern State on Sunday at Rousey Field in Tahlequah, securing the season series over the RiverHawks. The Griffons' 24 runs rank second most in program history, while their 20 hits are tied for the sixth most. MoWest jumped out to a 12-3 lead after the first inning and never looked back.
Micah Kobuszewski led the offensive surge, going 4-for-4 with five runs scored, tying a single-game program record, while also drawing three walks. David De Hoyos added a big performance, finishing 2-for-5 with seven RBIs, tied for third most in program history, highlighted by a three-run home run in the opening inning.
