ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Griffon men's and women's golf teams return to action this week, traveling to Kansas and Nebraska for two tournaments as the fall season winds down.

The Griffon men will travel to Andover, Kan., to compete in the Newman Men's Invitational at Terradyne Country Club on Oct. 12-13. The tournament is an MIAA-designated event that will impact MoWest's conference standings.

At the most recent MIAA-designated event, hosted by MoWest at St. Joseph Country Club, the Griffons finished fifth. MoWest will look to build on that performance as the team continues its pursuit of a stronger position in the conference standings.

The Griffon men's lineup will feature Bennett Berger, Tim Johnston, Parker Boggins, Dawson Schnieders and Ethan Mustard. Michael Atnip will also compete as an individual.

The tournament will begin Monday with the first two rounds, followed by the final round on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Griffon women will travel to Kearney, Neb., to compete in the UNK Central Region Preview, hosted by Nebraska-Kearney at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course, on Oct. 11-13.

The tournament will mark the final event of the fall season for the Griffon women and feature all 20 teams from the Central Region. With regional rankings scheduled to be released in mid-October, MoWest will look to close its fall campaign on a strong note and strengthen its regional résumé.

The Griffon women's lineup will consist of Makenna Casey, Avery Wells, Cydney Beckmann, Kylie Ellegood and Abby Owens.

The three-day tournament will feature one round each day, beginning Sunday.
