EDMOND, Okla. - Missouri Western baseball's (14-33, 12-24 MIAA) season came to an end with Saturday's 5-0 loss to Central Oklahoma (33-15, 23-13 MIAA) at Wendell Simmons Field.
The Griffons finished with six hits, led by a two-hit performance from senior
Anthony Taggart, but could not plate any of their six baserunners. Taggart and fellow senior
Quinton Robertson both collected doubles.
Central Oklahoma took an early advantage with their first run in the second, before adding four insurance runs down the stretch - three runs in the sixth and their final run in the ninth. Ty Chapman (3-4) led UCO's 11-hit outing and Ty Hammack scored a pair of runs for the Bronchos.
Junior
Logan Winkelman (1-5) recorded 10 strikeouts in 6.0 innings in the losing decision. Dax Sharp (5-1) went the distance and tallied three K's to pick up his fifth winning decision of the season.
