MARYVILLE, Mo. - Missouri Western baseball (9-24, 7-15 MIAA) scored a 12-2 run rule victory at Northwest Missouri State Wednesday in seven innings at Bearcat Baseball Field.
With the 4-0 win over Northwest in St. Joseph back on March 26, the Griffons secure a season series win over the Bearcats. This marks the third time in four years that Western has taken the season series from Northwest.
Trailing 1-0 after the third inning, Missouri Western teed off with three runs in the top of the fourth and kept peppering them on with four runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and three more in the seventh.
The Griffons outhit Northwest 17-6 and blasted four home runs in the victory - the most home runs they've hit in a single game this season.

Easton O'Keefe and
Kaden Doan each had three hits.
Blake Venneman scored a team-best three runs. Rodriguez drove in a career-best three runs. In all, eight Griffons had a hit and seven scored a run.
On the mound,
Gunnar Nartker (1-2) scored his first win of the season, making the start and tossing the first three innings. He struck out two and walked one, allowing just one earned run.
Missouri Western returns home Friday to open a three-game series against Arkansas-Fort Smith. First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m.
