ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Missouri Western baseball (1-3) will return to Arkansas this weekend for a three-game series against Arkansas-Monticello (2-1) from Weevils Field at Union Bank Park in Monticello.
Saturday's doubleheader will commence at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., and the finale will occur at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. The game will be broadcast on the

GRIFFON SEASON LEADERS
The Griffons opened the 2025 season 1-3 against a well-rounded Harding team last weekend in Searcy, Arkansas.
Senior
Rogelio Berumen led the Griffons at the plate over the four games, finishing 6-for-14 (.429 AVG) with four runs and three RBIs. Three of his hits went for extra bases, as he tallied a pair of triples and a double.
Junior newcomer
Frank Gall finished second on the team with four hits and tied for the most RBIs (five) with senior
Blake Anderson. Additionally, junior
Jackson Bryant collected the first home run of the season for the Griffs after going yard in game two.
Another notable stat from the weekend came from senior
Quinn Gundelfinger. The Nixa, Missouri, native successfully stole four bases in the game three win over the Bison, which is the second-most stolen bags in a single game in program history.
On the mound, junior
Logan Winkelman earned a no-decision in his first start for the Griffons after striking out four batters in 4.0 innings.
Lou Levy secured his first win of the season, registering three strikeouts in 3.0 innings for Western in the game three victory.
In addition, redshirt freshman
Jayson Shorb tossed two strong innings from the bullpen, striking out four and walking only one, and true freshman
Colby Deaver finished with three strikeouts in 4.0 innings of work in his first colligate appearance.
ABOUT THE BOLL WEEVILS
Arkansas-Monticello finished the 2024 season with a 34-24 (23-10 GAC) record and was picked to win the Great American Conference (GAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll with 115 points and six first-place votes.
They represented the GAC in the postseason and won the NCAA DII Central Region Tournament. UAM defeated No. 3 Arkansas Tech in the opener and knocked off No. 2 Missouri Southern twice in Joplin. Their historic season ended abruptly in the NCAA DII Super Region Tournament, falling to the top-ranked UCM 2-0 in the best-of-three series.
UAM opened the season with a win over Mississippi College (3-2) and got revenge over the No. 3 UCM Mules (7-5) before dropping their first game of the season to No. 18 Ashland (6-5) at the Houston Astros Winter Invitational last weekend.
LOOKING AHEAD
Missouri Western will debut in Missouri next weekend at the MSSU Lion Classic. They are set to face Truman State on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and Drury on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., both of which are part of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). The invitational will conclude on Sunday against Minnesota State from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) at 10:00 a.m.
