JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Griffon Women's Basketball (3-7,0-2 MIAA) closed out its nonconference road slate with a dominant offensive performance, rolling to an 89–61 victory over Lincoln (4-7,2-2 GLVC) on Thursday night inside Jason Gym.
MoWest opened the game in a tightly contested first quarter, holding a narrow 8–7 lead at the 5:13 mark. The Griffons then found their rhythm, going on a run to push the advantage to 15–7 with 2:47 remaining, before closing the quarter with a 17–12 edge.
MoWest continued to build momentum in the second quarter and stretched the margin to its largest of the first half at 14 points, leading 35–21 with 2:48 left in the second quarter. The Griffons outscored Lincoln 26–18 in the period to take a 43–30 lead into halftime.
The Griffons opened the third quarter with efficient scoring on the offensive end, outscoring Lincoln 23–13 to extend the lead and take a 66–43 advantage into the final period.
Momentum carried into the fourth quarter as the Griffons stayed aggressive, adding another 23 points while limiting Lincoln to 18. The balanced scoring attack and steady execution sealed the result, closing out an 89–61 road victory.
MWSU finished the game shooting 34-of-71 (47.9%) from the field, 13-of-30 (43.3%) from beyond the arc, and 8-of-15 (53.3%) at the free-throw line.
Lincoln finished the game shooting 19-of-63 from the field (30.2%), 11-of-43 from three-point range (25.6%), and 12-of-14 at the free-throw line (85.7%).
Mia Morel led the way with 25 points, adding six rebounds and five assists.
Nakiya Harris followed with 20 points, a team-high 12 rebounds, and four assists.
Ana Oliveira Dias rounded out the top performers with eight points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
