ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – No. 23 MoWest Volleyball (16-5, 8-2 MIAA) returns to the Looney Complex this weekend for its final home stretch of the regular season. The Griffons open play on Friday, Oct. 31, hosting No. 2 Washburn at 6 p.m. in a pivotal MIAA showdown before closing their home slate on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m. against (RV) Emporia State for Senior Day and Epilepsy Awareness Month.

Earlier this season, MoWest handed Washburn its only loss of the year, a 3-1 victory on Sept. 27 inside Lee Arena in Topeka. Since then, the Ichabods have reeled off eight straight wins and now sit at 20-1 overall and 9-1 in MIAA play. Friday's matchup carries major implications for MIAA Tournament seeding.

The Griffons will then look to avenge their Sept. 26 loss at Emporia State, when the Hornets swept MoWest 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-21). Emporia State enters the weekend 17-4 overall and 8-2 in conference play. Saturday's match will also serve as Senior Day as MoWest honors its three seniors Emma Salker, Trista Marx, and Lia Graham for their leadership and impact on the program, with ceremonies taking place immediately following the match.
