FORT SMITH, Ark. – MoWest Volleyball (11-5, 3-2 MIAA) opened its weekend road trip in dominant fashion, sweeping Arkansas–Fort Smith (11-6, 2-3 MIAA) in straight sets 25-17, 25-21, 25-13 to notch its third conference victory of the season.
The Griffons controlled the match from start to finish, hitting an efficient .267 as a team while holding the Lions under 20 points in two of the three sets. MoWest closed strong in each frame, using balanced offense and steady defense to seal the sweep. Emma Salker powered the offense with 14 kills, hitting .440 while adding four block assists. Taylor Russell followed with 11 kills on a .421 hitting percentage, while Noelle Sutcliffe added eight kills on a .292 clip. Holly Heldt chipped in seven kills and led the defense with 12 digs. Setting duties were split efficiently between Hayley Barsky, who tallied 20 assists and Katelyn Diani-O'Day, who added 19 assists and 10 digs.
