ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Once both teams had ridden out a two-hour storm delay on Friday, Griffon Baseball fell to Fort Hays State 15-2 in seven innings at the Spring Sports Complex.
Fort Hays (18-24, 8-17 MIAA) scored at least one run in every inning, taking a 4-0 lead by the top of the third. Later in the bottom half of the frame,
Hunter Olson hammered a two-run double to plate
Hunter Rumachik and
Travis Wiese and cut the deficit to 4-2. The Tigers, however, continued scoring, putting up a four spot in the fifth and then again in the seventh, enforcing the 10-run rule after seven innings to win 15-2.
NOTABLES
- Wiese led the Griffons at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run scored.
- Ryan Neise went 1-for-1 with two walks.
