ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Right from the get-go, Griffon Lacrosse left Quincy in the dust en route to an 11-6 win on Saturday at Spratt Stadium to open GLVC play 1-0 for the first time in program history.

Karlin York goals in the first seven minutes, Missouri Western built a 7-0 lead with five goals coming in the first quarter.

Mackenzie Porter kept Quincy (4-7, 0-1 GLVC) quiet throughout the first half, holding the Hawks to just one goal and helping MWSU preserve an 8-1 lead after the first two quarters.
After tallying a hat trick in the first half, York found her fourth goal in the beginning of the final quarter to push MWSU's lead to 11-4. Missouri Western went idle for the final nine minutes of the game, pushing the Griffons' all-time record vs. Quincy to 3-0.
