Box Score ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — While
Jared Munk homered late, Griffon Baseball fell 3-2 to Northeastern State on Saturday at the Spring Sports Complex.
The RiverHawks (14-16, 8-11 MIAA) sent two solo home runs over the left-field wall in the top of the third, building a 2-0 lead. However, the Missouri Western pitching staff bunkered down, as
Sam Kratz threw two innings of shutout work, striking out two NSU batters in the process.
David Steffen closed out the ninth with one inning on the mound, facing three RiverHawks and striking out one.
Meanwhile, Munk mustered together all of MWSU's offense, sending a sacrifice fly to center field in the fourth to score
Brenden Andersen. Hitting his first home run of the season later on in the seventh, Munk cut NSU's lead to 3-2.
Hunter Olson and Munk both singled to lead off the ninth, but both were left on base to end the game.

- Andersen stole his seventh and eighth bases of the season, collecting a new career-high in a single game.
- On top of that, Andersen was hit by a pitch, putting him on base twice.
