CLAREMORE, Okla. — Although Griffon Baseball eliminated a five-run deficit, Rogers State took game two due to a late walk, evening up the series on Saturday afternoon at the Diamond Sports Complex.
With Missouri Western (5-15, 2-10 MIAA) down 8-3 in the top of the seventh,
Noah Wenger,
Jayden Singleton and
Cale Sackewitz all walked with the bases loaded to cut the deficit to two. After
Bryson McArn made it an 8-7 game with an RBI groundout,
Hunter Rumachik tied the game at 8-8 with an RBI groundout of his own, scoring
Brenden Andersen. However, AJ Folds of RSU (16-8, 5-7 MIAA) walked on four-straight pitches to lead off the eighth, putting the go-ahead run on base.
Jesse Holguin brought Folds home after a fielding error by Sackewitz,at second base, putting Rogers ahead for good. Missouri Western then went one-two-three top close out the game.
