Flurry of early Griffon runs help MWSU bury OBU

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. Thanks to a four-run second inning, Griffon Baseball left Oklahoma Baptist in the dust and came away with a 7-3 victory to cap their time at the Henderson State Invitational at Clyde Berry Field.

The Griffons (2-1) got at the plate when Jayden Singleton ripped a single to right field to plate Hunter Olson. Missouri Western kept the pace up with RBI single from Riley Higgins and Travis Wiese, capping its second-inning storm with Jackson Bryant RBI single to left field.

After OBU (2-3) cut MWSU's lead to 4-2 in the top of the fourth, Wiese went to work again with his second RBI of the day, bringing home Jared Munk on a single to center field. Later in the fifth, MWSU put the exclamation point on its eventual win with an RBI single from Will Courtney and an RBI-sacrifice fly from Singleton.
