KEARNEY, Neb. — Missouri Western Women's Basketball lost to No. 13/19 Nebraska Kearney on Saturday afternoon, 91-55, at the Health & Sports Center.
Connie Clarke led the Griffons (18-5, 12-3 MIAA) with 13 points and four rebounds, while
Trinity Knapp and
Johnni Gonzalez both added 11 points.
Four players scored in double digits for the Lopers (20-3, 13-2 MIAA), led by Shiloh McCool's 16 points.
The first half was marked by a slow first quarter, as the Griffons finished the quarter down, 28-8. The second quarter saw the Griffs fire back, cutting into the lead and winning the quarter, 19-14. The game went to halftime, 42-27.
The second half was more of the same, as UNK once again jumped on the Griffons out of the interval. The Griffons were outscored in the quarter, 22-8, and went into the fourth quarter down, 64-35. Missouri Western showed signs of life, battling hard in the fourth quarter, but Kearney was able to extend the lead, eventually winning, 91-55.
